Supporting the Mental Health of Women 50+

Published with the consent of all participants

In early July, an inspiring meeting took place in Riga, bringing together potential partners around an important topic — supporting the mental health of women aged 50+ through the development of digital, cognitive, and practical skills.

The goal of the discussion was to shape joint initiatives that will help women in their mature years not only maintain psychological well-being but also continue to lead active and meaningful lives. Participants identified several key directions for future collaboration:
🔹 strengthening cognitive abilities through learning and new skill development;
🔹 increasing digital literacy and confidence in using modern technology;
🔹 creating spaces for sharing experiences, mutual support, and personal growth;
🔹 extending the age of social activity and fostering a sense of continued value to society.

Special attention was given to challenges such as adapting to a rapidly changing world, overcoming loneliness and age discrimination, and building a sustainable sense of relevance in this new stage of life.

The meeting in Riga marked the starting point for international cooperation aimed at improving the quality of life for women 50+ and promoting a more inclusive approach to mental health and lifelong learning.

We believe that such initiatives will strengthen partnerships, spark new projects, and increase the visibility of the needs of older women in modern Europe.
