One Year After Our Journey to Madeira, Novucenter 2025

Published with the consent of all participants

In April 2024, a group of women joined a unique learning journey to Madeira, part of the program “Developing Learning Skills.” This was more than just a training — it was a transformative experience that touched every participant deeply.

As the facilitator of this group, I had the joy of reconnecting with the participants one year later. We met again in the spring of 2025 to reflect, share stories, and support one another’s continued growth. Over the year, we also gathered three more times — after 1, 3, and 6 months — because real change doesn’t happen in one moment, it evolves over time. These meetings helped us stay connected, accountable, and inspired.

Participants shared that they still carry warm memories, emotional insights, and valuable skills from Madeira. For many, the most powerful memories were the group atmosphere, shared laughter, creativity, and moments of deep reflection in nature.

They recalled the workshops, the silence, the sea, the “Tree of Life,” and art as a way of connecting with themselves and others. And most of all — the feeling that they are not alone.

This learning journey sparked real-life changes:

  • Several women started studying again or changed careers.

  • Others learned to take better care of their emotional well-being.

  • Many gained confidence and took brave steps in personal or professional life.

  • Some finally allowed themselves to rest, to listen to their own needs, and to dream again.

They spoke of rediscovering inner strength, making peace with the past, and seeing life as full of possibilities.

Looking back, each participant could name how they had grown since the trip. Some became more confident and aware of their value. Others learned to set boundaries or to lead with compassion. Almost all said they now trust themselves more — and are kinder to themselves, too.

The journey to Madeira helped them reconnect with who they truly are, beyond roles, expectations, or stress.

The Thought That Stays

From our reflections, some phrases stood out — thoughts that participants still carry with them every day:

  • “I can do it.”

  • “Everything is possible.”

  • “Even a small step creates change.”

  • “I have the right to be imperfect.”

  • “I don’t need to prove my worth — I already am enough.”

  • “The world is full of beauty, and I am part of it.”

For me as a trainer, this journey — and the women who walked it — remain an inspiration. To see how one shared experience can ripple out into so many areas of life is a reminder of why we do this work.

We will continue to walk this path together. Slowly, consciously, with joy and courage.
